Omar Harb was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay area. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Comparative World Literature from San Francisco State University, he attended San Francisco Art Institute for two years, and then completed his Master’s of Fine Arts degree at San Jose State University. Omar is an oil painter and focuses on capturing the visceral quality of flesh in both human and animal form. Omar’s work ranges from life size nude portraiture, to paintings of raw meat, to abstract figuration and transformation. The concern of the body is of primal importance in Omar’s work.
